독거노인 통신기기 후원 | Donate Electric Devices To Senior Living Alone

KMAC 한민족비전센터는 퀸즈에 거주하는 독거노인 김씨를 위해 노트북과 핸드폰을 기증하는 등 후원활동에 나섰습니다.

은퇴후 김할아버지는 근근한 은퇴금으로 생활비를 겨우 충족하고 가족 하나 곁에 없는 외로운 생활을 해왔으며 건강 또한 변변치 못했습니다. 전자기기가 없이 세상과 단절된 생활을 하던 중, KACE 시민참여센터에서 KMAC와의 연이 닿았고 그 여느 독거노인들처럼 미안한 마음으로 조심스럽게 통신기기의 후원을 요청하였습니다.

그 분의 안타까운 사연을 들은 후, 저희는 흔쾌히 그의 요청에 응할수밖에 없었습니다. 앞으로 김할아버지께서 좋아하시는 뉴스를 매일 시청하시고, 세상과의 연을 이어가며, 정보로 충만된 노년을 보낼것을 기원하면서 KMAC는 저희의 손길이 필요한 또 다른 이웃을 찾아 여정을 계속 하였습니다.

KMAC Minjok Korean Aspiration Center has carried out a charitable initiative by donating a laptop and a mobile phone to Mr. Kim, a senior citizen living alone in Queens.

Since retiring, Mr. Kim has been struggling to make ends meet on a modest pension, living a lonely life without family by his side, and his health has also been far from good. Having lived cut off from the world without any electronic devices, he eventually came into contact with KMAC through the KACE Civic Empowerment and, like many other seniors living alone, cautiously requested assistance with communication devices, feeling apologetic even to ask.

After hearing his heartbreaking story, we could not help but gladly respond to his request. Hoping that Mr. Kim will now be able to watch the news he enjoys every day, stay connected with the world, and spend his later years enriched with information, KMAC continued its journey to seek out and support other neighbors in need.
